Aeon Flux

Anyone else out there love Aeon Flux??
I speak strictly of the MTV liquid television shorts, when it was on late at night, and not the recent movie.

You remember, good old Aeon, on late at night six years ago, or more. Grabbing your attention with her inhuman flexibiltiy, ear licking, double dealing, complicated death/suduction scenes.

I had every episode downloaded onto my computer, in various levels of quality, when I was presented with the collectors box set as a gift.
Thank you Aiden!!

Amongst the very cool, rough animation in the extra features, I recomend watching the director's commentary.
One of the artists, named Mark Mars, explains where alot of the brillant intensity, and lack of coherent sence comes from.
He gets alot of flack for his quirky nature, and lack of sobriety, but I liked seeing one source of the raw energy that makes up Aeon.

Another of Aeon's creators, Peter Chung, comments on one of Mars's critics, angry that someone so eccentric was even allowed into the project. Here's a small piece of it:

------You've in fact raised a topic that is a problem in commercial filmmaking.
Often the most talented individuals are shut out of contributing to studio product because they are eccentric in their personal demeanor or otherwise "unpolished". Working with him was often unpredictable, but what came out of the process was gold. Ultimately what matters is what ends up on the screen.

Peter Chung, December 23rd, 2005.------

Here's the rest

That Aeon Flux box set is a jewel, and if you know someone who has it, get it, and watch it.
